second visit

I spent several hours on the plot today. The weather was glorious,calm, sunny and around 10 degrees. Completed a variety of jobs including sowing beetroot, creating a seed bed and sowing cabbages and broccoli, planting garlic and shallots, digging more of bed 3 and adding 2 trugs of wonderful homemade compost. Having cleaned out the rabbits before I went I could add all their litter to my newly constructed compost heap.

I actually remembered to take my camera so will be postings some photos as soon as I know how!

First visit

First day of the month and I have decided to plot my progress at the allotment here on my blog page. The weather was fine, clear but windy. No rain today, thankgoodness, hopefully the soil will begin to dry out now. Temperature was around 10 degrees.

I spent a couple of hours up at the lottie. Still trying to complete the path system and took up two trugs of lovely homemade compost for the bed I am digging over. I also planted 2 rows of broad beans and 2 rows of peas. I was very sad to see that the allium bed has got rust in places and I'm not sure what to do about it. Will check out the forums later.
